Contact lens exams and fittings in Sanford

A contact lens exam adds a fitting to your eye exam. You take a trial pair home before you order a box.

How a fitting works

An open white contact lens case sits beside a tray of sealed trial lens packs on a white exam table.

Dr. Yoon measures the curve of your eye and checks how a trial lens sits and moves. You wear the trial lenses for about a week. At the follow up we check the fit and write your contact lens prescription.

If the trial lenses fit well, we can send your prescription by email or the patient portal.

Questions about contact lens exams and fittings

Is a contact lens prescription the same as a glasses prescription?

No. A contact lens sits on the eye, so its power and fit are measured separately.

My lenses never felt right. Is it worth trying again?

Often, yes. Tell us what bothered you, such as dryness late in the day or blur when you read. There is usually another lens design to try.

Can I order my lenses somewhere else?

Yes. You get a copy of your contact lens prescription once the fitting is finished.
